Apply Online for Legal Help

During the COVID-19 pandemic the LSNJ Hotline will remain open during its normal business hours. Our Hotline staff will be working remotely and you may encounter delays when calling.

How to Apply
  • FEMA

    • Online - FEMA website.
    • Call – 1-800-621-FEMA (3362)
    • TTY – 1-800-462-7585
    • Information needed to apply:
      • Your Social Security number.
      • Current and pre-disaster address.
      • A telephone number where you can be contacted.
      • Insurance information.
      • Total household annual income
      • A routing and account number from your bank (only necessary if you want to have disaster assistance funds transferred directly into your bank account). Lookup your bank routing number: Search for Fedwire Participants (from Federal Reserve Financial Services). 
      • A description of your losses that were caused by the disaster.

  • Small Business Administration Disaster Loans

    • Individuals that are Homeowners and Renters must register with FEMA to obtain a FEMA Registration ID Number by calling 1-800-621-3362. The speech or hearing impaired may call (TTY) 1-800-462-7585.
    • Businesses may apply directly to the Small Business Administration for possible disaster assistance. For loan application forms see: How to Apply for SBA Disaster Loan Assistance after a Declared Disaster.
