The Affordable Connectivity Program is a new benefit that helps individuals and families to afford the WiFi they need for school, telemedicine appointments, virtual child visits, and more. It provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers. A household is eligible if it meets the criteria for SNAP benefits, TANF/GA, Medicaid, WIC, SSI, public housing, school lunch, or a federal Pell grant. You can also qualify if your income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. Limits are shown below. To enroll, go to AffordableConnectivity.gov or contact your preferred participating provider to select a plan and have the discount applied to your bill.
In New Jersey, most internet providers also offer low-cost plans to low-income households. These low-cost plans can be combined with the Affordable Connectivity Plan.
