Dentists throughout New Jersey have volunteered to provide free, comprehensive dental care to low-income people of any age who are seriously disabled or have medical problems and do not have the means to pay for necessary dental care. There are no set income eligibility limits.
People who can pay for part of their care, such as laboratory work, will be encouraged to do so; but there is generally no cost for people who qualify. Applicants may be placed on a waiting list.
Senior Dent Program 1-800-792-8820 (732) 821-9400
The Senior Dent Program is sponsored by the New Jersey Dental Association. It provides a 15% discount to seniors 65 or older who qualify for the Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled (PAAD) program. The Hotline staff will forward an applicant’s name, address, and county to the appropriate dental society, which will then send the applicant a list of participating dentists.
Federally Qualified Health Centers
Several Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in New Jersey provide professional dental care as well as other health care services. They provide this care at a minimal cost for low-income patients who do not have insurance. Please contact the FQHC nearest you for this information.
