    • New Jersey Medicaid Agency
The Division of Medicaid Assistance and Health Services in the New Jersey Department of Human Services administers the state’s Medicaid program and N.J. FamilyCare. This site provides descriptions of the major Medicaid programs in New Jersey, contact information and links to the contract on-line between the Division and the HMOs in the State. The contract describes how the HMOs must deliver health care to Medicaid beneficiaries.
    • Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
This is the agency in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that administers the Medicare, Medicaid, and State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), and regulates all laboratory testing of humans (except research) in the U.S. Their Web site provides information on the federal minimum standards for all these programs, access to the laws and regulations that govern them, answers to frequently asked questions, and contact information.
    • Medicaid Resource Book
(from The Kaiser Family Foundation) - This is a newly-published, comprehensive manual containing information on the Medicaid program at the federal level. Note that states have many options under the federal Medicaid guidelines and each state has different financial eligibility criteria and medical services packages. Although federal law mandates minimum standards for coverage, applicants must meet their state’s requirements for eligibility. If you think that you have been wrongfully denied Medicaid coverage in New Jersey, please contact the Health Care Access Project through LSNJ’s Hotline at 1-888-576-5529.
    • New Jersey Medicaid
This site is for Medicaid beneficiaries who are not enrolled in an HMO. It allows you to find a Medicaid fee-for-service provider (doctor, dentist, specialist, etc.) by county and area of practice. Once you select the county and the type of provider, and click on "submit request." You will be given a list of appropriate Medicaid fee-for-service providers with their contact information. Note: Medicaid providers are under no obligation to accept all Medicaid patients into their practice. So make sure when you call for an appointment that they are accepting new Medicaid patients.
