    • County Prosecutors and County Victim Witness Advocates
      (from the Victims of Crime Compensation Board) - Contact information for Office of Victim-Witness Advocacy, part of the Prosecutor’s Office in each county. The Office of Victim-Witness Advocacy helps victims of and witnesses to crime by providing information about the court system, the status of criminal cases, and referrals to other social service agencies.
    • Megan's Law
      (from the N.J. Department of Law and Public Safety, Division of Criminal Justice) - Megan’s law requires people who have been found guilty of sexual offenses to register with the local police in the town where they live. The law also requires law enforcement under certain circumstances to let people know that a convicted sex offender is living in the town. This Web site explains the rights and responsibilities of citizens, community organizations, and businesses under Megan’s law.
    • Victims of Crime Compensation Board
      This is the official Web site of the Victims of Crime Compensation Board (VCCB), a state agency. The VCCB investigates crime victims’ applications and decides on the amount to be paid to crime victims. The Web site contains the application form, the requirements for eligibility, and the benefits that are available.
