    This is the official Web site of the Office of the Public Defender, which represents low-income people who are charged with breaking New Jersey criminal laws. The Web site has a trial services section that explains the rights and responsibilities of people who are represented by the Public Defender’s Office.
  • Federal Public Defender for the District of New Jersey
    This is the official Web site of the Federal Public Defender, which represents low-income people who are charged with breaking federal criminal laws. The Web site contains the addresses and phone numbers for the offices of the New Jersey Federal Public Defender.
  • Pre-Trial Intervention Program
    (from the N.J. Judiciary) - Pre-Trial Intervention (PTI) is a special program to allow people charged with breaking a law for the first time to have the charges against them dismissed if they meet the requirements of a special order. A person must apply and be accepted into the PTI program. This Web site explains the PTI program in question-and-answer format.
